Bio

Mark Krouse is a dedicated, people-focused human resources advisor and board member with extensive experience in global talent development, executive compensation, succession planning, human capital management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). He is committed to people excellence and achieves this through comprehensive leadership development, coaching, and employee satisfaction.


Most recently, Mark was the vice president of HR at Kaiser Aluminum where he was recruited to build the HR department with a focus on forward-thinking talent management, succession planning, and executive compensation across 13 facilities. He successfully established a dedicated women's leadership program, derived from the overarching leadership initiative, aligning with the succession planning framework. This initiative identified and nurtured 12 high-performing female leaders, fostering their professional development and organizational impact. Mark also implemented a 5-to-10-year success planning process to identify potential candidates for 160+ positions.

Previously, Mark was the vice president of HR at Samsung C&T, E&C Americas where he was hired to conceptualize and build the HR organization for a startup in growth mode. Mark was successful in his endeavor while navigating multicultural differences with the Korean owners and offering advisement on US practices and guidelines.

For several years, Mark was an adjunct professor at California State University where he leveraged his HR expertise to educate upper-level college students in HR 101. Throughout his time as an educator, he remained committed to continuous learning to facilitate an engaging, interactive classroom that promoted adult learning and retention.

During his early career, Mark was the vice president of HR and progressed through several other roles at Fluor Corporation. He excelled at the company, building a solid HR foundation while leading a multinational team of 427 professionals. He gained extensive global experience, supported the board of directors, and embraced cultural differences to drive cross-functional collaboration. He demonstrated an open, strategic communication style while supporting employees during global crises, including two Gulf wars, terrorist situations, and natural disasters.

Mark has basic business proficiency in French. He is a dual citizen (USA and Luxembourg). He holds a Master of Science in International Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He also completed the Corporate Board Member Director of Fundamentals Program with the American College of Corporate Directors.
